Description:

“I've eaten here a lot. Here's what you can count on: Whatever you order it will be prepared well, presented well and be exactly what the menu said."

"I've taken real food snobs here who were pleased with the quality of ingredients and the fairness in pricing. Best ham and eggs in town, period."

"The owner is also very proud of her tenderloin sandwiches and with good reason."

"I've dined at some of the finest restaurants on the planet and Aleta Janes, taken for exactly what it is, is splendid."

"Lastly, nice people work here and they've always kept my wife's coffee cup filled.”

Aleta Jane's Cafe is one of those breakfast-lunch nooks that every town has – no frills but great food at amazing prices. The coffee is served in a variety of different mugs, much like your own kitchen cupboard.

As proprietor Aleta Jane Nord says, "Kind of like 'Cheers' without the beer."

At breakfast you can’t beat the $1.49 All You Can Eat Pancake Special (Mon-Fri). Is there anything better than a plateful of light-as-air pancakes with a big slab of butter melting down the sides and sticky maple syrup covering the stack?

For lunch try their famous hand-pounded tenderloin, modestly billed as the best in town (it’s not bragging if it’s true!) There are also homemade soups and chili and plate lunches.

Aleta Jane's is at 803 Morrissey Drive, Bloomington. It's where Hannah Street becomes Morrissey. It's where the industrial district meets the golf course crowd.
