What’s better than cold beer and great food? How about cold beer, great food and COMEDY. That’s right, TreeHouse Lounge has comedy every weekend, as well as plush seating and great music which gives TreeHouse Lounge a good name. Be sure to come early if you want to designate an area for you and your friends.
The CopperTop has been a famous “townies” hangout since it opened. It is a great place to watch all playoff games. Laid back atmosphere, affordable food and drinks and friendly waitresses. Now it’s a great way to spend a Friday night (much better date night choice than a chick flick. And you can drink BEER!) You go west over the Locust St. bridge and you see a small strip mall at the base of the bridge. And there lies the CopperTop Lounge. If you go at lunchtime, you’ll find the parking lot pretty full, but don’t worry; they’ve saved a seat for you.
Comedy and CopperTop. They go together almost as well as the CopperTop and Locust St. pizza. Or CopperTop and buffets.
On Tuesday through Friday the CopperTop offers a prodigious lunch buffet. Think fresh food, simply cooked. Think unbutton the top button of your jean quantity. Think hot, steamy, down home goodness (no, not the waitresses, the food) It’s an un-kind of buffet. Un-fussy. Un-expensive (yeah, we know that’s not a word. Sue us) Un-limited.
Their dinners are as bountiful as their lunches. On Tuesday the insiders know to order the All U Can Eat Chicken for only $6.25. On Friday, it’s the other white meat—All U Can Eat Walleye for only $6.50.
And on Saturday, Sunday and Monday it's $1 burgers and $1 French fries. Can I get an “Amen?”
But this tis not a soliloquy on the CopperTop. Nay, this is a duet that demands we now devote our time and attention and appetite to the Locust Street Pizza part of the duo. What would Sonny be without Cher? (Probably still dead). What would Barney be without Fred? (Probably a purple dinosaur). What would a beer joint be without its pizza maiden? The Locust Street Pizzeria probably lured the CopperTop with its siren song of a $7 large one topping pizza, with inhouse discounts for the big appetite. All the time. Day or night. Dine in or Carry out. It’s the kind of price point that leaves you room to play the juke box. Or pool.
To sum up, if you want great football, head to that Golden Dome. If you want great architecture, head to Agra, India. But if you want cold beer, hot food and plenty of it, then head West on Locust Street to the CopperTop Lounge.
